Will Brooker Batgirl Concepts by NoFlutter Will Brooker Batgirl Concepts by NoFlutter
Ok, so I was emailed by author Will Brooker [link] who is conducting a piece on Batgirl from the early 90s. In his concept, he merges some old Vertigo characters, Kid Eternity,Rak Shade, and Black Orchid with Dick Greyson, Barbra Gordon(Batgirl) and Selina(Catwoman) in an alternate universe/time as early college students and before they became infamous.
Here is also an article on Mindless One [link]

From Left to Right:
Kid Eternity
Rak Shade
Susan and little Suzie (Black Orchid)
Richard Greyson
Barbra Gordon
Selina Kyle

Love the art, but always thought "hero high" was a stupid concept

It was actually a story concept of Batgirl during her early college times and how she suddenly became enthralled with crime fighting. Like how her early batgirl gear would be pretty much store bought, or taken from her father. No cape, no crazy get up, just a ski mask and black army gear.  The only other person who attended the college was Dick Grayson, who by night was already a professional crime fighter. Everyone else were young adults trying to make a living in the big city, and some of course end up becoming villains.

I know, the concept is not new.

usually the hero is out for revenge and the villain didn't really mean to become evil, somebody was mean to him

I live for the crazy get ups and escapism. When I want a real world take on life, I go outside :)

It wasn't my story, I just drew concept art. The idea also was that it was set in the 90s and it crossed over with old Vertigo characters.
Also, not all Heroes are out for revenge. Some might think they could do a better job, or finally take a stand against the great influx of crime. Hero and Villains are usually faced with the same life tests, the path they choose determines their fate. IE...2 kids grow up in a broken home, are poor, belittled, bullied, one rises above and becomes great, the other succumbs to the hate and abuse becoming what they hated most.

I want this comic to exist so bad.

This is spot on! It stays true to the original characters, while still retaining what makes them THEM, if that makes any sense at all. If there's ever a comic of this, I'd buy it!

Wow! I really love the colors for each character~
and you get a feel for their personality from the clothes they wear, not just because of their name and the 'established' story line X3
